Description

Apple Fritter Bites are the perfect blend of sweet, soft dough and juicy apples, all drizzled with a luscious glaze. These bite-sized treats are incredibly easy to make and are sure to impress at any gathering or serve as a delightful snack throughout the day.


Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp kosher salt
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 1 1/2 cups finely diced Honeycrisp or Gala apples (about 2 medium)
  • For the glaze: 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/3 cup + 2 tbsp apple cider or juice

Instructions

  1. 1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and grease a nonstick baking sheet.
  2. 2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
  3. 3. In another large bowl, combine melted butter and sugar until blended. Add egg, vanilla extract, and applesauce; whisk until smooth.
  4. 4. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet mixture until combined. Fold in diced apples gently.
  5. 5. Drop tablespoon-sized portions onto the prepared baking sheet.
  6. 6. Bake for about 10 minutes until golden brown.
  7. 7. While they bake, prepare the glaze by whisking powdered sugar with apple cider until smooth.
  8. 8. Once baked, brush warm fritters with glaze and broil briefly for caramelization.
  9. 9. Let cool for about 15 minutes before serving.
