  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 12 dinner rolls
  • 16 slices American cheese
  • 1/2 white onion
  • 1 Tbsp. softened butter
  • 1 Tbsp. olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 Tbsp. yellow mustard
  • 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tsp. kosher salt
  • pepper, to taste
  • 3 Tbsp. butter, melted
  • pinch of salt and garlic powder
  • 2 tsp. white sesame seeds
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 2 Tbsp. sweet pickle relish
  • 2 tsp. sugar
  • 1 tsp. distilled white vinegar
  • salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Butter a baking sheet.
  3. Sauté diced onions in olive oil until softened, then add ground beef and cook until browned.
  4. Season the meat with garlic, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, salt, and pepper.
  5. Layer half of the cheese on the bottom halves of the rolls on the baking sheet.
  6. Add the beef mixture and remaining cheese; cover with top halves of the rolls.
  7. Brush tops with melted butter and sprinkle sesame seeds; bake for 12–15 minutes until golden.
  8. Serve warm with burger sauce.
