Instructions

  3. Combine low-fat milk and water in another bowl; gradually mix into dry ingredients until smooth.
  4. Beat egg whites with cream of tartar until soft peaks form; gradually add granulated sugar and whisk until stiff peaks form.
  5. Fold egg yolks and vanilla into the chocolate mixture, then gently incorporate one-third of the beaten egg whites before folding in the rest until no streaks remain.
  6. Divide mixture among prepared soufflé dishes and bake for about 20 minutes until puffed up and set.
  7. Dust cooled soufflés with powdered sugar and serve warm.
