  • 1 lb beef sirloin or flank steak (thinly sliced)
  • 2 red and green bell peppers (sliced)
  • 1 yellow onion (sliced)
  • 4 tbsp soy sauce (divided)
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • Optional: garlic, ginger, green onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. Marinate the sliced beef in a mixture of 2 tbsp soy sauce, cornstarch, rice vinegar, and sesame oil for at least 15 minutes.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together the remaining soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, sugar, cornstarch, and water or broth.
  3. Heat oil in a skillet or wok over high heat. Cook the marinated beef until browned (about 2–3 minutes per side). Remove from the pan.
  4. Stir-fry bell peppers and onion until tender-crisp. Add minced garlic and ginger; cook briefly.
  5. Return the beef to the skillet. Pour in the prepared sauce mixture and cook until thickened.
