  • 1 large onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1-inch ginger, grated
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 1 can (14 oz) crushed tomatoes
  • 1 cup heavy cream or coconut milk
  • 1 teaspoon sugar (optional, balances acidity)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • ΒΌ cup chopped cilantro (for garnish)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice (for finishing)

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine Greek yogurt, lemon juice, ginger-garlic paste, and spices. Add chicken pieces; coat thoroughly. Marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook marinated chicken until golden brown on all sides (5-7 minutes). Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, melt butter and sautΓ© onion until translucent. Add garlic and ginger; cook until fragrant.
  4. Stir in spices followed by tomato paste and crushed tomatoes; simmer for 10 minutes.
  5. Mix in heavy cream or coconut milk and return chicken to the skillet; simmer for another 5-10 minutes.
  6. Adjust seasoning to taste and garnish with cilantro before serving.
