Ingredients

  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 slices of bread preferably thick-cut
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Cooking spray
  • Optional Shredded cheese, for topping

Instructions

  • Spray the air fryer basket lightly with cooking spray.
  • Place the slices of bread in the basket.
  • Using the bottom of a glass, press down the center of each slice to create an indent. Use your fingers to deepen the well slightly.
  • Crack one egg into the center of each slice. It's fine if some egg white spills over the edges.
  • Season with salt and pepper.
  • Air fry at 340°F (170°C) for 8 minutes.
  • (Optional) In the last minute of cooking, sprinkle shredded cheese on top of the egg if desired.
  • Carefully remove the egg toast with a spatula and serve immediately.

Notes

Customize with toppings like diced avocado, crumbled bacon, or hot sauce.
For a runnier yolk, reduce cook time by 1–2 minutes; for a firmer yolk, increase by 1–2 minutes.
Thick-cut bread helps prevent sogginess and holds the egg better.
