- 1 family-size box brownie mix plus ingredients to prepare (see notes)
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 ½ cups corn syrup
- 4 eggs
- ¼ cup unsalted butter melted
- 1 ½ teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 cups pecans chopped or whole
Preheat oven to 350°F. Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish and set aside.
Prepare the brownie batter according to package directions. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish.
Bake for 20 minutes, or 10 minutes less than the time listed on the box instructions.
While the brownies are baking, combine the sugar, corn syrup, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract in a medium bowl. Stir in the pecans.
After the initial bake, remove the brownies from the oven and carefully pour the pecan mixture over the top. Spread evenly.
Return the pan to the oven and bake for an additional 25–35 minutes, or until the pecan layer is set but still slightly jiggles in the center.
Let the brownies cool completely at room temperature for about 1 hour before slicing into 20 squares. Serve and enjoy!
If you can’t find a family-size brownie mix (for a 9×13 pan), substitute with two regular 8×8-inch mixes and their listed ingredients.
For added texture, combine chopped and whole pecans in the topping.
For clean cuts, chill the brownies briefly before slicing with a sharp knife.
